Job Description

:

The main purpose of this position is to assist the Group Financial Manager in managing the financial and statutory reporting function. The objectives of the Financial Accountant are the consolidation of timeous and accurate management reports, statutory financial statements and reports on the overall consolidated financial results for the Company. Responsible for the full financial function of certain entities within the Group. Must be a CA(SA).

Operational Financial Processing:

• Manages the financial reconciliation process between ledger and sub ledger

• Explains reconciled items and variances

• Ensures that accruals are raised and reversed

• Monitors and authorize journals

• Prepares financial information and schedules for monthly management packs and/or reporting

• Ensures all numbers are accurate and complete and reconciling back to general and sub ledgers

• Manages full debtors and creditors function

General Ledger:

• Reconciles GL and allocates costs accordingly

• Collects information from various sources as inputs into the GL

• Ensures supplier and payment allocations are accurate and complete

• Uploads of monthly financial information and quarterly recons confirming the accuracy og uploads and allocations

• Reviews group calculations pertaining to the alia IFRS 9, IFRS 15, straight lining of leases and PV of loans

Consolidation of Financial Information

• Performs the consolidation of financial information into meaningful reports

• Prepare the accounting consolidation of the groups financial statements

• Reviews the groups financial results based on actual historical information (monthly, quarterly, bi-annually and annually)

Reporting:

• Performs the consolidated financial reporting function of the Company

Financial forecasting and budgeting

Taxation

• Manages the taxation function for the portfolio of companies. This involves Statutory Tax, provisional tax as well as VAT

Internal and external audit:

• Oversees relationships with auditors and provides information when required

Risk Management

Requirements

Must be a CA (SA) who has experience in Consolidations, knowledge and application of IFRS

Must have property experience

2-3 years post article experience in a similar role with experience in consolidation, technical accounting and financial reporting.
