Main Purpose of Job

A p roofreader/quality assurer is responsible for proofreading, editing and quality controlling all collateral that the Agency produces prior to Client review/upload to social platforms/going to production. Specific responsibilities include proofreading from concept through final production with direction from project management, agency creatives, production and other agency disciplines.

To be successful in this position, you should possess strong proofreading and quality control skills in reviewing print collateral, social media posts and captions, scripts, reports, and client presentations. Part of your role would include having a sound understanding of all Client CIs to support the Creative QA process in picking up on incorrect logos or logo placements/incorrect products etc. Most importantly, this role is within a deadline-driven business environment, so it requires highly detail-driven individuals with flexibility who can do what is required to deliver the highest quality and ensure flawless execution - every time - in a collaborative space and manner. Due to the nature of this role, you will, at times, be expected to work outside of hours.

Core responsibilities:

Proofreading and QA of all content/copy produced by agency - this includes and not limited to client reports/communications/content for print, digital, scripts and Client presentations.

Knowledge and application of digital best practices for social media platforms.

Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

Creativity, adaptability, and working collaboratively within a team.

Ensure deadlines are met and can multi-task across multiple clients.

Screening and quality checking of all content on all digital platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter etc). This will be done from briefing stage through to content going live.

Understanding of all Client CI Guidelines and ensuring consistency throughout content.

Key results

Deadlines are managed effectively and consistently met- Able to multitask and work under pressure.

No spelling or grammatical errors on any work - printed, digital, or for client presentation.

A sound understanding of all Client CI guidelines.

All social platforms monitored throughout the day for any spelling or grammatical errors, and to ensure it is posted to the correct client page etc.

Collaborative approach to working closely with all teams.

Employee may be required from time to time to work after hours or on weekends/public holidays pending business requirements and urgent briefs.

Perform any other reasonable task as instructed by manager from time to time.

Skill set required

+3 years' experience in a role as a proofreader / QA.

Preferably within a Digital Agency and/or production house.

Sound knowledge of spelling, grammar, and punctuation.

A sharp eye for detail and the ability to concentrate for long periods of time.

Ability to identify alphanumeric errors in written material by comparing the material to an original.

Related qualification and English as a first language within a Matric diploma.
