Reporting to the Project Support Manager in the Project Controls Department, the incumbent will be responsible for undertaking and overseeing all project scheduling activities (estimating times and sequencing of project activities) on assigned systems' projects to optimise the guidance of projects through their life cycle by using appropriate techniques
Minimum Requirements
Applicants must be in possession of a formal qualification (Diploma, B-Tech, B- Degree)
Project Management Qualification (Diploma or Degree).
5 year experience in Project Management with a proven track record in project scheduling, project management skills (best project management practices) in terms of managing matrix structures, multi-disciplinary projects
Computer Literate - SAP Project System, MS Office, MS Project
Sound knowledge of Project Scheduling using Enterprise Project Management tools
Proven management, communication and leadership skills, strong influencing skills, conflict resolution skills and ability to achieve objectives without having direct responsibility.
Scheduling Professional (PMI- SP) will be an advantage.
Primary Duties
Develop baseline and master schedules.
Interpret the scope of work to ensure logical sequencing and linkages.
Execution of planning and scheduling activities associated with capital projects within an integrated project environment.
Monitor actual progress, compare to baseline and report progress against schedule.
Verify that the progress updates are accurate representations of the work accomplished.
Follow policies, standards, and guidelines for effective project scheduling.
Review and update procedures and systems for effective project scheduling.
Analyse schedules for potential problems or delays.
Review and critique contractors' schedules.
Interface the project plans for all other disciplines within a multi-discipline project.
Influencing and developing project management Earned Value Management.
Recommend action plans to keep projects on track in terms of timelines and linkages.
Attend required meetings and site meetings.
Skills and knowledge transfer assistance.
Ensure proper archiving for scheduling future similar projects.
