Role Headline
Integrates Procurement in the project management process (PM@Siemens) and organizes, controls and monitors all Procurement activities in a project. Responsible for managing direct third-party spending on materials, equipment and construction trade subcontractors on Siemensxe2x80x99 customer projects. Directly engages in large projects in the bidding phase to improve Siemens' competitive position by developing a sourcing approach with the sales or project development team, running subcontractor solicitations (RFQs and RFPs), conducting bid levelling and negotiating pricing and contract terms. Develops and manages a diverse group of suppliers and subcontractors to support Siemensxe2x80x99 energy efficiency (ESCO) Project. Drive adherence to standard sourcing processes and tools with sales and operations teams. This role provides opportunities to lead or participate in data analytics, process improvement, commodity strategies as part of Siemens Pty Ltdxe2x80x99 project procurement. The position will report to the Head of Supply Chain management responsible for procurement for Siemens Pty Ltd in South Africa.
Responsibilities of the Role
The Project Procurement Professional role is measured on the following activities:
Cost Reductions xe2x80x93 the role has a target for percentage of cost savings achieved through price negotiations, value engineering efforts, and other means.
Payment Terms xe2x80x93 the role requires negotiation of a target percentage of Siemens preferred payment terms.
Procurement Processes xe2x80x93 there are requirements for implementing new tools to enable more efficient and effective procurement. Drives Procurement strategies in projects and ensures their implementation. Participates in project meetings as project core team member to exert a shaping influence at an early stage and to optimize internal workflows and processes. Establishes proper sourcing and Procurement processes and controls all Procurement resources and activities in the project.
Supplier Management xe2x80x93 the role has responsibility for managing relationships with major suppliers including soliciting feedback from internal customers and sharing that with suppliers.
Internal Customer Satisfaction xe2x80x93 key managers are surveyed to determine the service level provided.
Qualifications and Experience
Degree/Diploma in Supply chain Management/Engineering (Advantage: CIPS/MCIPS)
3-5 years of experience in commercial/industrial construction with 1 year experience with purchasing construction trade contractors.
Good Knowledge and understanding of Project Procurement processes and Purchasing
Ability and willingness to travel to Siemens locations, customer sites and suppliers
Strong negotiations skills (Supplier Management)
Management of the contract management Lifecycle in both supplier and Engineering contracts (NEC/FIDIC)
2 years SAP Experience
Preferred Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience
BS in engineering, engineering technology, business, or construction management
Sourcing experience with design-build contractors and negotiation of teaming agreements
Experience working with sales and engineering functions on cost reduction efforts
Procurement management experience in a large, global corporation
Experience using Excel to analyze spending data for opportunities
Experience to developing and delivering PowerPoint presentation to management teams
Experience creating basic visualizations with Qlik, Tableau other data visualization platforms
Construction management and contract negotiation experience
