Provide advisory support to project procurement lifecycle, at a tactical, operational and strategic level to ensure security of supply, cost control, sustainability and optimal supplier performance for declared projects.

As a Project Procurement Advisor your responsibilities will include:

Safety, Health & Environment

  • Identify ways to support specific safety, health & sustainability opportunities and risks and ensure relevant activities complies with all Safety, Health & Environmental requirements.
  • Ensure the safe operation of the environment, performing regular risk assessments and raising any risks/issues immediately.
  • Comply with relevant policies and standards and particularly the Contractor Performance Management policy & procedures to enable achievement of gold-standard contractor safety performance.
Performance & Delivery

General
  • Contribute to the overall SC strategy, risk identification, critical tasks & performance targets.
  • Provide advisory support with planning and scheduling for Regional & BU Project Procurement Management activities.
  • Actively participate in value delivery target setting, tracking and initiative development.
  • Advise on the contract administration of project related procurement contracts.
  • Provide advisory support to performance management of contractual KPI's.
  • Ensure effective tracking and reporting of supplier performance
Commercial valued delivery & Supplier Partnering
  • Provide advisory support throughout various project phases and lifecycle, including management of contractual risk.
  • Provide advisory input related to inclusive procurement, SHE and Social aspects of the project.
  • Support key negotiations for regional contracts and drive a step change in commercial deals.
  • Actively support an inclusive procurement programme to identify and implement initiatives targeted at increasing host community procurement participation.
  • Manage relationships with suppliers, to deliver innovative solutions and sustainable value.
  • Oversee supplier performance management of select suppliers and address escalated issues.
  • Align with the Centre of Excellence on digitization opportunities with suppliers and collaborate for potential implementation.
Operational excellence and OP support
  • Support Project Teams, Supply Chain Manager and Company Representative function in the implementation and operationalisation as well as continued contractor management of active contracts.
Inclusive Procurement
  • Support a strategic approach across commercial work where communities are central to all commercial strategies, agreements and associated initiatives.
Physical Supply Chain
  • Support strong connectivity with regional materials management and warehousing teams to ensure alignment on future demand requirements, working capital optimization opportunities and the resolution of supplier non-performance.
Sustainability & Social
  • Support the Anglo American Sustainability agenda with Suppliers through cross collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, with a focus on circular economy and responsible sourcing opportunities and plans.
Supply Chain Excellence
  • Collaborate with the Centre of Excellence on leading practice.
Compliance and Governance
  • Ensure personal and team compliance to internal Anglo American and Supply Chain Governance requirements pertaining to all relevant activities.
  • Ensure personal and team compliance to applicable legislative requirements pertaining to all relevant activities in set portfolio
People & Teams
  • Drive own performance management and personal learning
Qualifications

Qualifications
  • An undergraduate qualification - Bachelor degree level or equivalent, alternatively relevant tertiary qualification and proven track record of extensive practical experience in a role and context of similar complexity
  • A postgraduate qualification in a relevant discipline OR a proven track record of extensive practical experience in a role and context of similar complexity
Experience:
  • Practical experience in relevant field
  • Good technical knowledge across the SC value chain
  • Project Procurement
  • Ability to integrate Commercial, PSC, Supplier Management & Purchasing sub disciplines
  • Safety & Sustainability as it relates to Supply Chain & Inclusive Procurement
  • Good commercial management
  • Critical and systems thinking capability
  • Project Procurement (Advanced)
