Job Summary
Project Engineering Assistant - CPT - Onsite Engineering/Technical
Western Cape - Cape Town*
ENVIRONMENT:
A company committed to understanding, supporting, and empowering small business owners and entrepreneurs in the food, beverage, pharmaceutical, and allied industries is looking for a Project Engineering Assistant. This role involves assisting across multiple phases of project engineering, including design, planning, and implementation. A degree in engineering, ideally in Mechanical or Process Engineering, or a related discipline, is beneficial.
DUTIES:
Design:

• Assisting in the creation of technical designs using engineering tools like SolidWorks.
• Ensuring that designs meet client needs and are innovative and efficient.

Quotations:

• Working on preparing project quotations, ensuring they align with both the costs and specifications outlined by clients.
• This likely includes working closely with the management team to ensure accuracy and competitiveness.

Implementation:

• Supporting the setup and execution of projects.
• Coordinating with clients, suppliers, and internal teams for on-site installations and execution.
• Hands-on involvement may include providing practical support for equipment installations, troubleshooting, etc.

Project Management:

• Helping to track project timelines, ensuring milestones are met, and assisting with the coordination of resources.
• Acting as a communication hub between clients, suppliers, and internal teams to make sure everyone is aligned.

Field Experience:

• Traveling to client sites to oversee installations and support on-site activities.
• Gaining real-world insights into manufacturing processes, helping ensure smooth execution of solutions.

REQUIREMENTS:
Education:

• A degree in engineering, preferably in Mechanical, Process Engineering, or a related field would be beneficial

Skills:

• Familiarity with or willingness to learn SolidWorks, and knowledge in areas like fluid dynamics and process engineering.
• Willingness to travel to client sites for project oversight and implementation support.
• A valid drivers license, which will be necessary for site visits.

ATTRIBUTES:

• Strong organizational skills for managing multiple projects or tasks simultaneously.
• Excellent communication skills to ensure effective collaboration with a diverse range of stakeholders (clients, suppliers, and internal teams).
