Job Summary Role and Responsibilities: As a Mechanical Project Engineer with a focus on vehicles, you will play a pivotal role in the design, development, and successful execution of vehicle-related projects. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including design, manufacturing, testing, and quality assurance, to ensure the timely delivery of high-quality vehicles that exceed customer expectations. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading and managing vehicle-related projects from conception to completion, ensuring that project objectives are met on time and within budget.
  • Collaborating with design teams to develop innovative and efficient vehicle concepts that align with regulatory standards, safety guidelines, and customer preferences.
  • Conducting feasibility studies, risk assessments, and technical evaluations to guide project planning and decision-making.
  • Creating detailed project plans, including schedules, budgets, resource allocation, and milestones, and tracking progress against these plans.
  • Overseeing the integration of mechanical systems, components, and subsystems within vehicles, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
  • Coordinating prototype builds and testing phases, analyzing test results, and iteratively improving vehicle designs based on feedback and data.
  • Managing relationships with suppliers, vendors, and external partners to source components, negotiate contracts, and ensure timely delivery of materials.
  • Identifying and resolving technical issues, challenges, and roadblocks that arise during the development process.
  • Providing technical expertise and guidance to junior engineers, fostering a collaborative and innovative team environment.
  • Remaining up-to-date with industry trends, technological advancements, and regulatory changes in the automotive/transportation sector.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience as a Mechanical Engineer in the automotive/transportation industry, with a proven track record of successfully delivering vehicle-related projects.
  • Strong knowledge of vehicle design principles, systems integration, and manufacturing processes.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, CATIA) and simulation tools for mechanical analysis.
  • Familiarity with relevant industry standards, regulations, and safety requirements.
  • Exceptional project management skills, including the ability to lead cross-functional teams, manage resources, and adhere to schedules.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities, with a demonstrated aptitude for identifying and resolving complex technical issues.
  • Effective communication skills to convey technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience with prototyping, testing, and validation methodologies for vehicle components and systems.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering high-quality results.
  • Ability to adapt to fast-paced environments and work effectively under pressure.
