PURPOSE:
  • To assume end to end accountability for the implementation and ongoing management of Exxaroxe2x80x99s enterprise-wide technology project to ensure that project goals are accomplished within the role holderxe2x80x99s delegation of authority.
  • To manage all aspects of the project life cycle and provide the strategic direction and technical expertise required to successfully implement an enterprise resource planning (ERP) solution, sustainably integrating multiple, group-wide business processes.
  • To consult widely with management and multiple internal stakeholders in reviewing existing business processes, systems, activities, analytics and data management requirements.
  • To work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to ensure that the ERP system aligns with our business processes, optimises operational efficiency, and helps the company meet its strategic goals.
  • In conjunction with management, to review project proposals, determine goals, time frames, funding limitations, and procedures for accomplishing the project, its staffing requirements and allotment of resources.
  • To select, appoint and manage external vendors.
  • To ensure delivery of diverse technology requirements, systems and applications, meeting business expectations and industry standards, through project stream leads
  • To identify risks and provide change management and operational readiness solutions to ensure that project/s are completed within specified timeframes and budget for eventual business integration and ongoing management.
  • To develop meaningful metrics and identify innovative tools to track and report on progress, performance, and key results.
  • To provide strong team and cross functional leadership with multiple business process owners, project managers and vendors.

Minimum Requirements


QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor Degree Information Management (Essential/Minimum and)
  • BSc (Hons) Computer Science (Essential/Minimum or)
  • B Degree (Hons) (Relevant) (Essential/Minimum)
  • Certificate Project Management (Essential/Minimum)
  • Management Development Programme (Essential/Minimum)
  • Master of Business Administration (Recommended/Desirable)
EXPERIENCE:

10-12 years Proven track record and leadership experience in launching and successfully implementing a large-scale ERP solution, preferably within a mining or heavy industries environment. Technical knowledge of ERP systems and implementation methodologies. Knowledge of project management methodologies, tools and software. Strong planning, organising and integration skills, with proven ability to manage multiple projects and prioritise tasks effectively. Experience managing cross-functional teams. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and proven ability to trouble shoot complex issues and resolve them. Strong attention to detail. Ability to work independently and in a team environment. Ability to work in a dynamic and challenging environment under pressure and manage tight deadlines. Highly effective engagement and communication skills with an emphasis on translating technical concepts to variety of project stakeholders. Duties & Responsibilities

#Pod Staffing & People management
  • Manage project resources, including project team members, vendors, and contractors.
  • Provide visible leadership to the project team including external employees, fostering professional development, and ensuring a high- performing and motivated team
  • Plan and manage performance, skills development, employment equity, talent, and culture of team to improve innovation, achieve efficiencies and expand competencies
  • Ensure clear communication of individual, divisional and business targets and objectives and drive performance towards their fulfilment
  • Manage vendor and contractor relationships to ensure that deliverables are met within budget and on schedule.

Budget and Resource Allocation
  • Manage and ensure optimal use of budget allocated to projects.
  • Authorise finances based on delegated signing authority.
  • Apply sound commercial and financial models.
  • Develop and implement a detailed schedule for projects.
  • Draft and submit budget proposals and recommend subsequent budget changes where necessary.

Change Management
  • Develop and implement change management strategies to ensure smooth transition for employees and stakeholders.
  • Identify and address potential barriers to adoption and implement training programs.

ERP Risk, Governance and Compliance
  • Proactively identify and mitigate risks associated with the ERP program.
  • In conjunction with other group assurance functions, adhere to IM governance frameworks, policies, business continuity and disaster recovery plans, and procedures to manage ERP business risks.
  • Develop and maintain contingency plans to address potential issues.
  • As required, support and actively contribute to assurance efforts including, amongst others, internal and external audits, governance, legal, risk, compliance, and supply chain management processes related to the ERP Project.

ERP Strategy and Planning
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive ERP strategy with a defined scope, objectives and deliverables that align with the company's objectives and long-term goals.
  • Create and maintain a comprehensive project plan that outlines the scope, schedule, budget and required resources.
  • Coordinate internal and external information gathering sessions and work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to document current and optimised future state business processes.
  • Support the ERP vendor selection process by identifying, appointing, and managing vendor and contractor relationships to ensure that deliverables are met within budget and on schedule.
  • Develop meaningful metrics to measure strategic performance, and identify tools to track and report on strategic performance and key results
  • Develop processes and practices for implementing system testing. Partner with implementation vendor on planning, design, testing, deployment, and support activities.
  • Lead the development of policies, procedures and standards based on IT/ERP best practice and conformance with departmental and enterprise objectives.
  • Plan for and develop change management communications, user and functional training and integration initiatives.

Infrastructure Management
  • Ensure sound enterprise architecture.
  • Ensure high availability and reliability of ERP system to support business and mining operations.

Programme Management
  • Lead and programme manage the end-to-end implementation and management of Exxaroxe2x80x99s ERP system, ensuring it is delivered on time and within budget.
  • Amongst others, this includes managing discovery, design, implementation, testing, deployment, post implementation support, and training and change management.
  • Collaborate with external vendors and internal IM and other relevant teams to ensure a successful integration.
  • Oversee the solution design, implementation and integration of related information systems related to the ERP implementation.
  • Work closely with multiple partners, including the executive team, department managers, IM personnel, and end-users, to ensure the ERP system meets the organisation's requirements and objectives.
  • Utilise standard risk management processes and methods as part of project tracking and communications.
  • Gather business use cases and functional, system and configuration requirements.
  • Gather inventory of needs, reports, and systems. Analyse and report on barriers and recommendations.
  • Manage all testing including functional, integration and user testing.
  • Manage the creation of technical systems documentation, functional design documents, pact assessments, configuration specifications, process guides, and policy documents.
  • Report project progress, timelines, budget, and recommendations to multiple stakeholders, including the Executive Steering Committee.
  • Establish quality control processes, conduct regular quality audits, monitor system performance, and address any deficiencies.

  • Collaborate with various departments to understand their needs and incorporate feedback into system design.
  • Manage relationships with IM vendors, contractors, and strategic partners in negotiating contracts and ensuring the delivery of high- quality products and services
  • Manage internal and external relations, including interface with external providers or other functions responsible to ensure that business needs are addressed
  • Develop and maintain mutually beneficially relationships with strategic partners and stakeholders, maintain effective communication updates with senior management and others, and manage expectations to ensure stakeholder satisfaction.
