The organisation supports the economic development in Africa with a key focus on agriculture and food security; climate change and natural resources management; economic and corporate governance; human development and capacity building; and regional integration and infrastructure. The Programme Coordinator is required to support the delivery of a multi-university energy solutions project focused on these initiatives. The role includes managing programme activities, coordinating stakeholders, supporting logistics, and assisting with grant and financial reporting. Permanent, full-time hours Monday to Friday, local and international travel required, hybrid with at least 2 days in-office, R63 000 per month. 2 year renewable contract.
Key Responsibilities
Be the central point of contact for subcontractors, universities, government departments, and key stakeholders, ensuring smooth collaboration and clear communication.
Lead the planning and delivery of workshops, meetings, and events - from securing venues and managing suppliers to ensuring seamless logistics on the day.
Manage procurement processes and build strong relationships with suppliers, ensuring all purchases meet organisational policies.
Support grant management by preparing clear and accurate reports, maintaining risk registers, and assisting with audit and compliance requirements.
Work closely with finance teams to track budgets, monitor expenditure, and prepare financial forecasts and supporting documentation.
Keep project activities on track by maintaining accurate records, monitoring progress, and helping to address risks and issues quickly and effectively.
Coordinate with consortium partners to share information, align deliverables, and distribute project updates to stakeholders.
Provide hands-on support to the Africa Infrastructure Desk - from managing schedules and drafting reports to coordinating stakeholder communications, arranging travel, maintaining databases, supporting marketing efforts, and assisting with research tasks.
