Job Description

FULL PROFESSOR

A PhD in Applied Statistics or Mathematical Statistics. A minimum of ten (10) years of consistent, extensive, and excellent performance in teaching and learning at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Evidence of successful postgraduate supervision (Master's and Doctoral) Achievement of international recognition through research outputs within the last ten (10) years, emphasizing recent research outputs. Significant contribution to community engagement.

ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR

A PhD in Applied Statistics or Mathematical Statistics. A minimum of seven (7) years of consistent, extensive, and excellent performance in teaching and learning at undergraduate and postgraduate levels Evidence of successful postgraduate supervision. Achievement of national and/or international recognition through research outputs within the last seven (7) years. Significant contribution to community engagement.

SENIOR LECTURER

A PhD in Applied Statistics or Mathematical Statistics. A minimum of five (5) years of teaching. A record of publications in refereed academic journals, edited books, and/or book chapters. Evidence of successful postgraduate supervision. Contribution to community engagement.

LECTURER

Master's Degree in Applied Statistics or Mathematical Statistics or a PhD in Applied Statistics or Mathematical Statistics would be an advantage. A minimum of three (3) years' teaching and/or industry experience

Additional Recommendations

The applicant should have a broad knowledge of Applied statistics and Data Science modules and a good research profile. A broad understanding of current research developments and teaching trends within the discipline Knowledge and experience of various statistical software packages such as SPSS, SAS, R Good communication and presentation skills Good organizational and planning skills Ability to work both independently and in a team Competency in Microsoft Office applications and a strong work ethic Experience in e-Learning

Summary of Duties

Management of all learning, teaching, assessment, and research matters. Assist in curriculum development Conduct research and publish in accredited journals Perform other duties as determined by the Head of Department
