SUMMARY:
The University of Fort Hare is seeking applications from appropriately qualified and experienced candidates for a Professor/Associate Professor: Library & Information Sciences (1 Post) in the Faculty of Social Science and Humanities.POSITION INFO:
Professor: Library & Information Science (1 Post)Minimum Requirements:

• A relevant Doctoral Degree
• At least 9 years experience in higher education
• Extensive undergraduate and postgraduate

and research experience in Library Information Science * A track record of international and national accredited research publications commensurate with the academic rank of Professor.

• Postgraduate supervision experience including successful Doctoral supervision commensurate with the academic rank of Professor
• Evidence of successful national and international fundraising for research
• Recognition as an established scholar in a chosen area of research (e.g., NRF rating, international keynote addresses/ plenary lectures).

Responsibilities:

• Provide academic leadership in research; curriculum design, development, and implementation
• Teach undergraduate and postgraduate modules
• Meet research publication requirements for the academic rank of professor
• Secure external research grants and establish research programs
• Supervise all levels of postgraduate students and host post-doctoral fellows
• Establish institutional, national and international collaborations
• Provide academic leadership and contribute to mentorship of academic staff
• Participate in community engagement integrated with teaching and/or research
• Contribute to University service and participate in administrative duties at departmental, faculty and university levels

Associate Profess: library information systems
Minimum Requirements:

• A relevant Doctoral Degree
• At least 7 years experience in higher education

• Extensive undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and research experience in Library Information Science
• A track record of international and national accredited research publications commensurate with the academic rank of Associate Professor African languages.
• Postgraduate supervision experience including successful Masters and/or Doctoral supervision commensurate with the academic rank of Associate Professor
