Lead and Manage the Department of Entrepreneurship to become the foremost Department in South Africa and get its programmes not only accredited in SA but also by international professional accrediting Associations.
Ensure that the Department achieve the CPUT and the Faculty strategic goals 2015-2019 and the Vision of CPUT going forward.
Design entrepreneurships programmes and modules for other Faculties including Masters Course base and PhD Programs.
Job Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Doctoral Qualification in or with Entrepreneurship as a focus
At least five (5) years' teaching experience including supervision of postgraduate students at university level
At least 4 Articles in accredited journal
Key Performance Areas / Principal Accountabilities
Lead and manage the department effectively, efficiently and in a sustainable manner
Human Resources management including managing performance in the Department
Serves as chairperson of Departmental committees including research, teaching and learning and ethics
Teaching and learning lecturing Entrepreneurship/Business Management/Financial Management
Ensure that the PQM of the department is responsive to the needs of the industry
Design a doctoral qualification and ensure its offering soonest its approved by DHET and CHE
Ensure that the Masters in Course is designed and offered on block release
Serve as member of the executive of the School of Commerce, Management and Governmental Sciences as well as other committees such as research, community engagement, teaching and learning committees, etc. of the School and Faculty
Provide leadership and management of university resources in an ethical manner
Community Engagement and stakeholder relations towards effective Work Integrated Learning [WIL] OR 100% placement of students
Conduct efficient and effective academic administration in a professional manner including invigilation's as per CPUTs timetable
Participate in Faculty committees and CPUT s' strategic projects
Assessing and examination of dissertations and theses
Ensuring effective Departmental administration in support of the academic project.
Manage and annually ensure the improvement of research outputs of the Department
Ensure that each staff member published a minim of one article a year
Publishing articles in accredited journals (at least 1 article per year)
Publishing text or academic books
Increase the number of staff with doctoral degrees
Increase and retain staff with NRF ratings
Improve pass rates and throughputs rates of the department
Implement CPUT's Teaching and Learning Strategy as well as Teaching Charter
