Job Title: Professional Nurse (Maternity Unit)
Job Type: 3-Month Temporary Contract
About the Role:
SD Recruitment is currently seeking a Professional Nurse (PN) with Maternity Ward experience who is available to relocate from Cape Town to Oudtshoorn for a 3-month temporary contract.
Accommodation will be provided for the duration of the placement.
This is an exciting opportunity to deliver essential maternal and neonatal care in a supportive and structured public sector environment. You will play a critical role in labour support, maternal monitoring, and overall maternity patient care, while contributing meaningfully to the local communitys healthcare services.
Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver skilled, evidence-based nursing care to mothers and newborns
• Monitor and manage patients in labour and postnatal stages
• Administer medications and manage obstetric emergencies
• Collaborate with medical officers, midwives, and allied health teams
• Ensure strict adherence to maternal care protocols and safety standards
• Maintain comprehensive and accurate patient records

Essential Requirements:

• Diploma or Degree in Nursing from a recognised institution
• Registered with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Professional Nurse
• Maternity or Midwifery experience essential
• Excellent clinical judgement and strong communication skills
• Willingness to relocate to Oudtshoorn for 3 months
