Responsibilities
Condition Assessment: Conduct inspections of civil infrastructure, identify defects, and assess their impact on structural integrity.
Defect Analysis: Apply defect rating systems to classify deterioration such as corrosion and cracking.
Asset Management: Develop and update asset registers, including condition ratings and risk profiles.
Technical Reporting: Prepare detailed reports outlining findings, repair methods, and maintenance strategies.
Stakeholder Engagement: Liaise with municipal stakeholders and clients to align project goals and meet deadlines.
Data Analysis: Analyze visual data to estimate repair needs and assess potential future risks.
Stormwater Management: Participate in site assessments, hydraulic modeling, and design development for stormwater infrastructure.
Project Management: Coordinate project meetings, document minutes, and manage client communications.
Design Development: Assist in the development and refinement of design plans for infrastructure projects.
Client Communications: Maintain clear and professional communication with clients throughout the project lifecycle.
Requirements
Education: BScEng in Civil Engineering from a recognized institution.
Professional Registration: Must be registered with the relevant professional council (e.g., ECSA).
Experience: 3-5 years in civil engineering with a focus on condition assessments, stormwater systems, and infrastructure upgrades.
Technical Proficiency: Skilled in civil engineering software, particularly Civil Designer, and proficient in Microsoft Excel.
