Job Description

Our client, a large food manufacturing company, based in Johannesburg, requires a production supervisor to oversee daily production operations, ensuring efficiency, quality, and safety within the plant. Staff supervision and optimising workflow are key to the position.
Key Responsibilities

• Execute plant procedures to meet productivity, efficiency, food safety, and quality targets. This will require continuous monitoring of plant performance, reviewing of analytical results and taking corrective action
• Identifying areas for improvement in the production process, implementing changes to increase efficiency, and reducing costs
• Updating production schedule or plan to ensure weekly production target is met
• Control Product and Product Processes
• Control Raw Materials stock levels and minimizing waste
• Liaise and coordinate maintenance activities on the utilities and production plan with the maintenance team
• Conduct inspections as part of an internal audit team and take corrective action
• Maintain and promote health, safety and hygiene in accordance with legislation and FSSC 22000 ISO standards
• Optimise people, plant, machinery and equipment

Requirements

• Minimum B.Tech in Mechanical /Electrical /Chemical/ Industrial Engineering
• Minimum 5 years' experience in Production plant operations is essential
• Experience in TPM/Lean manufacturing principles
• Experience in leading and driving shopfloor excellence
• Food manufacturing industry experience is essential
