POSITION: PRODUCTION SUPERVISOR

About the Position:

We are looking for an experienced and dynamic production supervisor who will manage efficient operations within a production environment and/or as part of a diverse environment. Responsible for resource planning and scheduling.

Working Conditions, but may change due to operational requirements:

Location of position: Lupo Bakery KZN Branch

The position will be responsible for, but not limited to:

Oversee and have complete control of the production process on his / her shift Manage respective departments to ensure that production orders are completed within the prescribed time frame as determined by the NRP and Factory Manager Ensure that all products are within specification as determined by the Technical Manager/ Senior Production Manager/Factory Manager Report any deviations from specification to Senior Production Manager immediately Apply knowledge and skills and account for all departments under current span of control Manage subordinates and assign tasks to ensure that the company production process is effective Ensure that raw materials used are within specification as determined by the Senior Production Manager Utilize knowledge and skills to ensure that the production process is cost effective by keeping wastage to a minimum and keeping overtime hours to a minimum in consultation with the Senior Production Manager Apply total management principles and manage departmental labour issues; overtime; leave; injury on duty and absenteeism in conjunction with the Human Resources department Ensure that departments (under span of control) are optimally staffed and fill vacant positions in the most effective and efficient manner as advised by the company's Recruitment & Selection policy in conjunction with the Human Resources department Work closely with shift Quality Controller to ensure that the quality of products meets the company quality standards Work closely with the Stores Department to ensure that all required stock is obtained for the production process to run effectively and efficiently Fully understand and implement the company's Food Safety policy and work in conjunction with the Food Safety & Cleaning team to ensure that high levels of food safety are upheld in the production process Fully understand and implement the company's hygiene and housekeeping policy throughout all departments Ensure the correct packaging of products is in line with production specification Ensure that subordinates employ safe methods when working with machinery and report non-performing / malfunctioning machinery through the correct processes in consultation with the Maintenance Manager and Senior Production Manager Ensure that all documentation (e.g., yields and shortages) is completed on a daily/weekly/monthly basis as required by the Senior Production Manager Attend Factory Manager chaired meetings and hold regular meetings with subordinates to set objectives and ensure that the most effective and efficient production process is implemented within the company Identify training needs for subordinates and follow proper company procedure for training implementation Enforce the "Clean as You Go" principles. Keep the machinery and equipment in a clean and workable condition.
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need to meet the following requirements:

Grade 12

Must have Quality Controller/Quality Assurance related qualification(s)

Must have Quality Controller/Quality Assurance experience

Must have 2-3 supervisory experience

Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills

Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment

Proficiency in reporting, and performance tracking

Must have production industry exposure

Excellent organizational skills, with an ability to prioritize important projects.

Work well under pressure

Be able to multitask

Great time management skills
