Job Description

A Production Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the food production area, ensuring efficient and safe processes, and maintaining high-quality standards. This role involves managing a team, coordinating production activities, and troubleshooting any issues that arise to meet production targets and deadlines.

DUTIES:



Supervising and Leading:


Managing and motivating a team of kitchen staff, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback.

Production Coordination:


Overseeing daily production activities, ensuring adherence to schedules, and optimizing workflows to meet targets.

Quality Control:


Implementing and enforcing quality control measures to maintain high standards for food preparation, presentation, and safety.

Inventory Management:


Assisting with ordering and inventory control, ensuring adequate supplies are available for production.

Safety and Compliance:


Implementing and enforcing safety procedures, ensuring a safe and hygienic work environment, and complying with health and safety regulations.

Troubleshooting:


Identifying and resolving any production issues, such as equipment malfunctions or staffing shortages, to minimize disruptions.

Reporting and Communication:


Maintaining accurate production records, preparing reports, and communicating effectively with other departments and management.

Training and Development:


Training new kitchen staff and mentoring existing team members to improve their skills and performance.

Cost Control:


Monitoring and controlling production costs to ensure efficient use of resources.

Skills and Qualifications:

Leadership and Interpersonal Skills:

Ability to motivate and manage a team effectively, communicate clearly, and build positive working relationships.

Problem-Solving and Decision-Making:

Ability to identify and resolve issues quickly and efficiently.

Organizational and Time Management Skills:

Ability to prioritize tasks, manage schedules, and meet deadlines.

Technical Skills:

Understanding of food preparation techniques, kitchen equipment, and food safety standards.

Knowledge of HACCP and Food Safety:

Understanding of Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) and other relevant food safety regulations.

Communication Skills:

Ability to communicate effectively with staff, management, and other departments.

Adaptability and Flexibility:

Ability to adapt to changing situations and handle unexpected challenges.

Qualifications Required for the Position



Matric certificate with Mathematics or Mathematical Literacy Tertiary qualification in Production or Operations is advantageous
Job Type: Full-time

Pay: R9000,00 - R11000,00 per month

Work Location: In person

Expected Start Date: 2025/07/01
