Job Summary
To ensure that the production volumes are achieved, and all products and practices meet agree operating standards and specifications.
Requirements: (qualifications and experience)Min 5 years' experience in production environment Knowledge of good manufacturing practices Literacy skills Operating skills in all equipment

Operational Deliverables (key tasks):Have start up meetings with the team Tier 1 meeting Attend Tier 2 meeting in morning Execute the production plan provided Do roll call of staff and report on absenteeism Maintain starting times at shift start, breaks and ends Ensure quality on products are maintained In case of emergency follow the emergency response procedure Do maintenance if possible. No unauthorised work to be done Check and sign all completed batch sheets Calculate PI sheets after every batch on shift Make sure all information is completed on PI Sheets Sign off and verify all completed check sheets Ensure pre-start up sheets are done on all equipment Support operators on the machines Ensure all equipment is switch off at shift end Ensure everything is locked at shift end Do not allow access to staff in offices Report on all miss-conduct to production supervisor/manager If the situation is not manageable call Production manager Do not engage in arguments Maintain a high level of safety and stop any unsafe behaviour when necessary Meet with Production Manager before shift starts during night shift Perform all fire and evacuation duties on shifts in the event of a fire Maintain all food safety standards

Responsibility and authority:Conduct safety audits in the Production Support the Production supervisor Support operators when problems occur Quick response to correct deviations minimal time wastage online Respond quickly whenever line stops for anything Leading hands should be able to stand in for any operator on any equipment during absenteeism Check quality on the line Check all machinery and equipment during safety audits Do thorough checks use your senses for example listening and smelling equipment Report all near misses and incidents Be a team player Ensure you know the plan and that targets are met, if not assist in figuring out how these targets will be met Thoroughly investigate breakdowns report on everything including time and settings Support operators Check first aid kit and report on stock in first aid kit Take notice of an increase in incidents and investigate why it happens for example if there is an increase in plaster use check why this happens Leading hands should be able to stand in for any operator on any equipment Do Gemba Walks Think of ideas to improve the plant Assist with all fire and evacuation duties on shifts in the event of a fire

Food Safety responsibility:Adhere to all Food Safety requirements in terms of Personnel practices and Hygiene Ensure GMP programmes are implemented and adhered to Ensure Foreign object and Allergen policies are adhered to Perform daily inspections Ensure all production records are completed Check raw material are according to specification Ensure all batches that were prepared have correct weights and were signed off by WIP department Correct weights get tipped All staff are trained and assessed in relevant ISO procedures All training and assessments are done and completed on time Paperwork is legible and investigate all discrepancies on paperwork that gets handed in Induction training for new recruitments is completed Ensure all finish products are done according to standard Ensure that there are no deficiencies with finish product Correct labelling, no broken bags, no labels stuck over broken bags, no dirty bags and stack pallets. Ensure correct pallets are use and correct quantities recorded on bumper labels Ensure all CCP records are correctly completed, and any non-conformities are recorded Corrective action on housekeeping results within production area

Operational safety requirements:Adhere to all safety instructions and signage Conduct all operations in a safe manner as per operational procedures Participate in all safety and emergency drills Ensure lock out procedure is followed
