Job Overview:
The Production Manager will be responsible for overseeing and optimizing the day-to-day production operations, ensuring efficient manufacturing processes, adherence to quality standards, and the timely delivery of products. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, technical knowledge of steel/sheet metal production, and experience in fast-paced industrial environments.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan, coordinate, and control manufacturing processes and workflow.
Ensure that production is cost-effective, on time, and within quality standards.
Supervise and manage production teams and ensure workforce productivity.
Monitor production schedules and adjust timelines as needed.
Maintain and enforce health & safety regulations.
Collaborate with procurement, design, and logistics departments.
Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement solutions.
Ensure equipment is properly maintained and safe to operate.
Report on production metrics and performance to senior management.
Requirements:
Minimum Qualification: Matric (Grade 12) - post-matric qualifications in production management or engineering will be advantageous.
Industry Experience: Minimum 3-5 years in a similar role within the steel, sheet metal, roofing, or construction industry.
Strong leadership and team management abilities.
In-depth knowledge of production processes, materials, and machinery used in the steel industry.
Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Proficient in production software and MS Office.
