Purpose Statement 
 To oversee the production process, coordinating all production activities and operations. To ensure that the manufacturing process run's efficiently, meet quality standards and customer deadlines.

 2. POSITION DESCRIPTION 
 Main Outputs and Responsibilities for this Position (please provide a short description under each heading/output) 
 1. Production Coordination 
 Implement production schedules to meet customer demands 
 Coordinate production activities with other departments 
 Allocate resources including personnel, equipment and material to maximise efficiency and productivity 
 Monitor production processes and workflow, adjusting schedules and resources as necessary to address bottlenecks and delays 
 Analyse production processes to identify areas for improvement and cost reduction while optimizing efficiency and productivity 
 Conduct root cause analysis of production issues and implement corrective action 
 Implement inventory control measures to minimize waste 
 Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations and safety protocols 
 Maintain accurate production records and documentation 
 2. Personnel Management 
 Manage subordinates in line with company policies, procedures and industry collective agreement. 
 Responsible to lead, motivate, train and control any allocated persons 
 Ensure that subordinates record and report quality problems immediately 
 Monitor and direct workflow of subordinates 
 Hold regular performance reviews to discuss performance against objectives, counselling employees where performance is not in line with the standards 
 Motivate team to develop with a focus on ongoing improvement. Implement good ideas, give credit where due, support, counsel and discipline where necessary 
 Foster a positive and collaborative work environment that encourages teamwork and continuous improvement. 
 Promote a culture of workplace safety. 
 Practical hands-on passing on of skill (Show and do) Guide team to ensure that members deliver output and performance in line with 
 company quality standards 
 Communicate and confirm values and goals and clarify roles on an ongoing basis 
 Proactively communicate consequences of misconduct to team members 
 Conduct discipline and counselling where necessary, staying within the limits of orderly actions in terms of the disciplinary code 
 3. Health and Safety 
 Ensure organisational health and safety standards and safe working practices are maintained 
 Work safely and report on safety hazards or issues 
 Report any accidents, incidents and near misses 4. Food (Product) Safety: 
 Food safety standards are site specific and at these sites employees should: o Apply the site's food safety principles and standards o Report any food safety hazards or issues to your Supervisor/Manager o Comply to and maintain all GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practices) in relation to the Company's FSMS (Food Safety Management System) 
 5. Quality 
 Apply the company's quality principles and standards Maintain Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) 
 6. Reporting and Administration 
 All reports and administration related to the position 7. General 
 Establish contacts and extract the necessary IP from the industry to ensure growth and continuous improvement 
 Be well informed with the international standards and capabilities of the process Have potential to deal with international suppliers to keep the company on the forefront of technology and trends

 3. JOB EVALUATION CRITERIA 
 A) Knowledge and Skills 
 Secondary Education Grade 12 
 Tertiary Education (including Diplomas, Certificates and Degrees) 
 HNDT Mechanical/ Electrical Engineering NQF 6 Production Management / Operations Management (will be advantageous) 
 Experience 10% - Minimum 5 years' experience in a Production Manager role in the manufacturing industry - FMCG market 
 70% - In-depth and hands-on experience in, and exposure to injection moulding processes, tools and ancillary equipment. 
 20% - Exposure to training at IM machine suppliers

 60% - Have knowledge and understanding of plastic Manufacturing, especially Injection Moulding process
