Job Description

We're seeking an experienced Production Manager to oversee and optimize our production activities, ensuring exceptional quality, safety, and customer satisfaction. As a key leader, you'll be responsible for managing workflows, budgets, and teams, while driving continuous improvement initiatives and implementing company policies.Position details:Type: Permanent
Key internal relationships: Group functions, other group Operations departments, quality, Interco, logistics, warehouse, other plant managers, R&D, Commercial organization, etc.
Key external relationships: Suppliers, certification institutes, local authorities, etc.
Primary Purpose: Supervise and control all the production activities (HS&E, Quality, Production, Engineering, Order handling, Internal logistics, Production Planning, Maintenance, etc) to maintain optimal cost levels and effectively meet customer requirements; and Ownership over the BudgetJob description / core competencies:1) Scheduling and coordinating workflows based on the requirements2) Ensures compliance with work discipline and safety regulations;3) Planning, organizing, directing and running optimum day-to-day operations to exceed our customers expectations;4) Control compliance with quality assurance standards and the quality of manufacturing processes;5) Increasing production, assets capacity and flexibility while minimizing unnecessary costs and maintaining current quality standards;6) Responsibility for production output, product quality and on-time shipping; and7) Active involvement and support to the implementation of company policies and procedures, securing full compliance.8) Be responsible for the HS&E, production output, product quality and on-time shipment;9) Allocate resources effectively and utilize assets to produce optimal results;10) Implement strategies, in alignment with the company, and provide clear sense of direction and focus;11) Active participation on the daily planning meeting, analyzing the problems (jobbing, materials, BOMs, personnel, etc) and actively seeking for solutions;12) Coordinate with all departments to fulfill the SLA and to obtain customer satisfaction;13) Lead the implementation of continuous improvement initiatives,and other Lean tools in his area of responsibility;14) Support in the investigation of claims and definition of corrective actions;15) Support in addressing employee issues or grievances16) Coach, guide and develop team;17) Support of new products industrialization.Location: Northriding, GautengJob Qualifications, Skills & Experience:University degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering Experience: * More than 7-10 years of experience in Production Management of complex production environments and with large teams.Knowledge & Skills: * Languages: English + local language;

• Computer skills in ERP, Outlook, Excel, Word, etc;
• Proven managerial experience and good organizational and communication skills;
• Knowledge of business management principles (budgeting, strategic planning, resource allocation and Strong team building, decision making and people management skills;
• Ability to create accountability and to lead by example;
• Familiar with H&SE regulations and industry standards and technical expertise;
• Adaptability to changes and resilience;
• Good mechanical/structural engineering knowledge; and
• Good electrical engineering knowledge including wiring code knowledge. Other requirements (licenses, certifications etc):
• Lean Manufacturing;
• Six Sigma is a plus; and
• Other problem solving or continuous improvement methodologies.
