Lead to the manufacturing function within budget and output targets to meet manufacturing requirements and standards. Full accountability for ensuring safety, production quality, and that cost and delivery requirements are met. Responsible for developing an enthusiastic, motivated and flexible team by building working relationships ensuring that Health, Safety and Environmental requirements are adhered to. Manage the team on best practices and establish standard policies and procedures whilst also mentoring and leading teams. Strategy and Development xc2xb7 Create and implement best practice manufacturing vision, strategy, policies, processes and procedures to aid and improve operational performance. xc2xb7 Identify business improvement opportunities within the organization. 2. General and Task Management xc2xb7 Responsible for stock take results on a daily, weekly and monthly basis. xc2xb7 Lead by example, ensuring a safe and efficient workplace is maintained at all times. xc2xb7 Waste Reduction xc2xb7 Improvements in processes and quality xc2xb7 SOP Development and review xc2xb7 KPI on delivery OTIF xc2xb7 Review of orderbook and amendments on dates xc2xb7 Resource allocations xc2xb7 Manage staffxe2x80x99s working hours to ensure that unnecessary overtime is not being worked, ensure that overtime is managed and kept in alliance with the Legislation and or the exemption applications. xc2xb7 Attend daily production meetings xe2x80x93 give feedback on your departmentxe2x80x99s current progress according to production schedules. Ensure that there is continuous feedback given throughout the day should you not achieve your production targets. xc2xb7 Ensuring that staffxe2x80x99s KPIxe2x80x99s are monitored, and production targets achieved, take the necessary action if KPIxe2x80x99s are not met within a satisfactory level of performance - Ensure the target productivity level is achieved on a daily basis xe2x80x93 should targets not be achieved the necessary corrective action needs to be taken against the effected supervisors and or employees. xc2xb7 Effectively and efficiently manage the production of the required daily/weekly/monthly targets in line with customer specifications, meeting quality and delivery expectations, minimizing costs where possible and ensure the required best working practices are maintained at all times. xc2xb7 Responsible for plant production, financial performance, meeting customer requirements and maintaining the orderly and productive operation of planned activities. xc2xb7 Update the production plan on a daily basis and ensure proper communication to all relevant parties. xc2xb7 Communicate and liaise with other departmental managers regarding throughput of stock to ensure production targets are met. xc2xb7 Ensure that non-conformance is challenged, and counter-measures are agreed and implemented. xc2xb7 Attend various meetings and action/communicate instructions. xc2xb7 Produce written reports and make presentations on production requirements/ targets/ costs, etc xc2xb7 Undertake continuous training and development. xc2xb7 Perform root cause analysis and resolve problems. xc2xb7 Identify and deploy the technical skill sets, resource levels and systems to deliver projects, including the engagement of external resources as required. xc2xb7 Conduct risk assessments of processes and tasks in the department. xc2xb7 Ensure that the function operates in accordance with any health, safety and environmental policies and procedures to ensure the safety and wellbeing of staff and visitors. 3. People Management xc2xb7 Ensure the delivery of the People Strategy within the area of accountability. xc2xb7 Manage, coach and develop a high performing manufacturing team that meets agreed objectives, and which delivers best practice results, added value and continuous improvements. xc2xb7 Set department objectives/KPIs and review and assess ongoing performance of direct reports. xc2xb7 Report on achievement of targets and identify any actions required. xc2xb7 Manage and lead the team, ensuring adequate staffing levels, recruitment, training, development, appraisal, attendance, disciplinary issues and daily supervision to maximize efficient productivity. xc2xb7 Provide technical expertise to the team. xc2xb7 Monitor the completion of tasks and ensure good performance and record on appropriate systems. xc2xb7 Consistently promote high standards through personal example and roll out through the team so that each member of the team understands the standards and behaviours expected of them. xc2xb7 Communicate KPIs from the strategic annual plan so that each employee is aware. xc2xb7 Develop, implement and manage key performance indicators (KPIs) for each area of responsibility. xc2xb7 Overall plan, including management of, and reporting. xc2xb7 Manage contractors on site to ensure they meet legal and company requirements. xc2xb7 Deal with personnel issues on shift including interaction with the Trade Union, in line with Company Policy and Agreements. 4. Financial and Budget control xc2xb7 Input and hold responsibility for manufacturing budgets. xc2xb7 Prepare the annual Manufacturing budget and forecasts and all Capital Expenditure proposals as well as ensuring compliance with legal standards. Manage the budget from identification to completion of projects. xc2xb7 Responsible for achieving budget and forecast 5. Relationship Management xc2xb7 Liaise and communicate with other departments and ensure an effective interface with in is maintained. xc2xb7 Work as part of the Management team to share ideas and improve operation, recommending, supporting and implementing continuous improvement activities. xc2xb7 Process and procedure improvements to optimize results and improve quality of delivery, in line with quality standards requirements delivery in line with Company and Customer requirements. xc2xb7 Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure optimal performance. xc2xb7 Liaise and communicate with other departments, customers, suppliers and other service providers. xc2xb7 Communicate with stakeholders the impact of market change and potential effects on engineering design and development. Recommend solutions without compromising quality or service while optimizing cost. xc2xb7 Stay current and up to date on any changes that may affect the supply and demand of needed products and materials and advise others of any impact. xc2xb7 Contribute to new business initiatives and projects.
