Production Manager Electrical / Mechanical

Job Description

This position plays a key role in driving operational excellence, continuous improvement and supporting the company''''s strategic focus on Execute, Energise, Edge, Empower and Energy.
Qualification:

  • Ideal Degree in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering OR Mechatronics Engineering
  • Minimum Qualification N6/S4 + Trade test or BTech Electrical or Mechanical
Essential Experience Required:
  • Minimum 5 years experience in maintenance or asset care management within manufacturing or FMCG
  • Strong understanding of the Asset Care life cycle
  • Able to impelement and run a maintenance program, implement continuous improvements and drive all maintenance related actions to completion
  • Can manage and execute project implementation from concept phase to completion
  • Strong leadership and people management skills
  • Analytical thinker with problem-solving and decision-making capability
  • Experience with SAP systems advantageous.
  • Strong understanding of ISO, FSSC22000 and OHS compliance requirements
Key Tasks: (in short will go into detail once CV received)
  • Asset Management & Budget Control - ensure all necessary maintenance is carried out and related administration is copleted, accurately and timously / ensure servicing and maintenance of machinery and equipment is executed efficiently / ensure all breakdowns activities follow systematic problem-solving process / develop and manage annual maintenance budgets in conjunction with the Operations Manager / Monitor monthly accounts and ensure maintenance expenditure remains within approved budgets
  • Continuous Improvement and Spares & Asset Management - Managing spares usage, ordering replacements and incurred costs. Safe keeping of spares, maintain supplier list, Accurately and timeously record mould maintenance on designated recording platforms like SAP / Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives that promote substainability / Use data and trend analysis to drive reliability and performance improvements
  • Safety and Housekeeping - Ensure 100% compliance with the OHS Act, company safety procedures, safety inspections
  • Team: Ensure efficient deployment of maintenance resources / Build, grow and maintain an effective maintenance team aligned to business needs / Develop effective team relationships through regular honest feedback / Implement training programs and performance appraisals for all team members / Ensure standby is properly managed / Upskilling of new employees / Chair weekly maintenance meeting
