Production Manager (Automotive)
Role Summary:
Manage production planning, workflow, and operator supervision to ensure timely, defect-free deliveries of modified vehicles. Support continuous improvement using Smooth Flow principles and efficient labour/material management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement production schedules and plans
- Supervise, guide, and train production staff
- Monitor progress, manage documentation (job cards, quality docs), and prepare production reports
- Coordinate with supply chain, purchasing, and finance to optimize processes
- Ensure adherence to ISO standards, safety protocols, and quality procedures
- Drive process improvements and resolve production issues
- Promote 5S and Smooth Flow practices in the workshop
- Tertiary qualification in Production or Operations Management
- 35 years experience in manufacturing and production planning
- Strong MS Excel skills and computer proficiency
- Proven team leadership, organizational, and time management skills
- Automotive experience advantageous
- Analytical, proactive, and able to work under pressure
