Job Description

Production Controller
Our client, a well-established food manufacturing facility based in Brits, North West, is seeking an experienced Production Controller to lead and manage their production operations. This is a pivotal role for a results-driven professional with a strong background in food manufacturing, particularly in feed production or FMCG environments. The ideal candidate will demonstrate excellent leadership capabilities, a commitment to quality and safety standards, and a track record of optimising operational efficiency.
Minimum Requirements:

  • A National Diploma in Production Management, Project Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar managerial role within a manufacturing or feed production environment.
  • Familiarity with ISO 22000 Quality Management Systems.
  • Proficiency in MS Office; experience with ERP, MES or production planning systems is beneficial.
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, equipment, and lean management principles.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Production Planning & Oversight:
Plan and manage daily production schedules, ensuring maximum efficiency, resource allocation, and adherence to quality and output targets. * Quality & Compliance:
Enforce compliance with health, safety, and quality standards, ensuring all processes meet legal and regulatory requirements. * Team Leadership:
Lead and develop a high-performing production team. Set clear roles, KPIs and performance goals. Manage staff scheduling, attendance, and overtime. * Continuous Improvement:
Drive production improvements through lean manufacturing techniques. Identify and resolve process bottlenecks, and implement corrective actions. * Reporting & Communication:
Compile and analyse production reports, including downtime, throughput, and capacity planning. Facilitate regular communication across departments including procurement, quality control, dispatch, and sales. * Equipment & Maintenance Coordination:
Collaborate with maintenance teams to ensure effective preventative maintenance scheduling and minimal equipment downtime. * Documentation & Systems:
Maintain all production documentation and reporting within the business management system, ensuring accurate records and traceability. Closing Date:
