Rocket Creative Design & Display is looking for an exceptional production and operations manager to lead our daily operations and drive critical business outcomes. This central role demands a proactive leader who can masterfully oversee all production and procurement, ensuring our teams work in perfect synergy.
Collaborating closely with the Managing Director, you'll be instrumental in controlling production output, guaranteeing projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality.
Beyond production, you'll ensure efficient day-to-day business management, including robust financial and staff oversight.'
Key responsibilities
1. Business operation management
Working directly with the managing director on day-to-day operations and planning
Keep teams aligned and ensure clear communication between departments
Lead daily and weekly planning meetings to review production schedules, set goals, and resolve issues
Track overall job progress to ensure deadlines are met
Identify operational bottlenecks and implement practical, cost-effective solutions
2. Production oversight
Oversee the full production process, from planning to delivery
Monitor production performance and quality on the floor daily
Work closely with production managers to stay ahead of delays, technical issues, or staffing challenges
Organise training where needed to help improve team skills and production methods
Maintain high standards of quality control across all departments
3. Procurement and financial oversight
Manage supplier relationships and monitor purchasing activity
Work with the procurement team to source materials and negotiate pricing
Review and approve supplier invoices and purchase orders
Monitor project costs to keep spending within approved budgets
Consolidate month end cashflow of incoming payments vs outgoing supplier payments
Work with accountant to ensure all supplier documents are receive timeously I.E month end statements, invoices.
4. Cross-department collaboration
Keep communication flowing between design, production, procurement, print, and finance teams
Review designs/solutions for feasibility and suggest adjustments based on production capabilities
Ensure that project execution stays aligned with the original creative intent
Look for ways to improve how departments work together

Strong in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Teams)
Proficient in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign
Comfortable using CorelDraw and SketchUp
Basic understanding of SolidWorks
Experienced with VCarve Pro for CNC machines
Familiar with large-format printing, including HP Latex printers and RIP software
Worked with project management tools like ProWorkflow or similar platforms
Working conditions
Full-time role; some extended hours during busy periods
Regular movement between office, production floor, and print areas
Occasional off-site client meetings or industry events
Reporting structure
Reports directly to the managing director
Direct reports include production supervisors, print head, procurement lead, team leaders
