The team is small but highly effective. Product development interacts closely with the company's other teams globally. This role will be based in Cape Town but with a remit across the company's worldwide product suite and related activities. This dynamic team supports work on new product and investment strategy development and management of existing products and strategies across the company's global business. The value add extends across a variety of investment strategies (e.g., equity, multi-asset, fixed income, alternative credit) as well as multiple types of investment vehicles (e.g., SICAV's, AIF's, OEIC's, unit trusts, hedge funds, AMETFs, US fund structures and blockchain), as well as supporting strategic change projects. For creative problem solvers and keen innovators, the opportunity for challenge and growth is extensive.JOB DESCRIPTION WILL INCLUDE BUT NOT BE LIMITED TO:

  • You will be responsible for leading project implementation and management across all of the company's fund ranges, working closely with the team of product developers;
  • You will be required to evolve, as you grow in experience and understanding of the company's product suite, operational architecture and operational teams, to support the head of the team in managing business capacity through a continually improving centralised product link into the the company operational complex;
  • You will be responsible for project management responsibility for delivering new product build and product change projects run ad-hoc working/project groups to deliver projects on time, within budget and in line with the product specification;
  • You will be required to build a tech-enabled product management framework and process, which will include delivering a front-end product roadmap and dashboard, used for publishing status updates to senior leadership and the broader business;
  • You will be responsible for continuously influence the improvement of business processes, during project delivery, to increase efficiency and adoption of tech-enabled solutions;
  • You will be required to understand and support the implementation of new regulations affecting the company's product suite;
  • You will be responsible for supporting ongoing work to ensure products remain compliant, commercial and client aligned;
  • You will be required to execute product governance duties (e.g., range reviews, committee attendance);
  • You will be responsible for supporting work on industry-level interaction (like the IA / ASISA), lobbying and supporting various stakeholders, both internal and external.

  • You have a passion for global markets and the business of international asset management.
CORE QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
  • You have a relevant tertiary qualification;
  • You have a professional (e.g., CFA, MBA, CA (SA), PMP) qualification - this would be a distinct advantage;
  • You have a minimum of 10 years' current, relevant work experience in the investment (or adjacent) industry;
  • You have project management experience;
  • You have asset management operations experience, including a good understanding of the:
  • Typical trade life cycle, including middle and back office operational roles and responsibilities;
  • Regulatory and broader compliance environment;
  • The asset management distribution landscape and value chain;
  • You have top-tier proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Teams and Copilot;
  • You are proficient in leveraging AI tools for data analysis, automation, and decision support, enhancing efficiency and insights;
  • You have coding skills (Python, VBA, R, Java, or similar) - this would be a distinct advantage;
  • You are proficient with data platforms (e.g., Morningstar).
You are a bright, organised, skilled individual. You understand the institutional investment space and can interact between investment professionals; product professional operations and IT. You will ensure what is formulated in the engine room is delivered to the client. New role.
