DELIVER transformative growth by building intelligent tech solutions that change the practice of law as your Software Development expertise & strong managerial ability to lead teams and projects is sought by an innovative LegalTech company to fill the dual role of a Product Owner/Head of Software Delivery in a fully remote position. Your core focus will be on ensuring the Tech Teams efficient delivery of the business requirements while drawing on your prior experience as a Product Owner & Scrum Master to take control of the end-to-end management and delivery of the product backlog and translating business requirements into technical user stories. You will also manage the prioritisation and delivery of the detailed user stories and product backlog and be given control of the staff and Scrum processes necessary to deliver (in your capacity as Scrum Master). You will require a tertiary qualification in IT/Information Systems or equivalent with 5+ years experience at managing teams and projects; 5 years in a similar role including being a Scrum Master & Product Owner in an Agile environment.

DUTIES:

  • Understand and translate the vision of the product and its roadmap into product backlog with prioritised and detailed user stories.
  • Convert business and project requirements into tech specifications / user stories and work closely with the IT team to size Dev tasks.
  • Write well-formed user stories with clear goals and acceptance criteria for the Development team.
  • Maintain the product backlog / pipeline and adherence to task prioritisation and ultimately responsible for the delivery of tech tasks.
  • Manage sprint allocations, daily stand-ups, definitions of done and Agile ceremonies (sprint reviews / retros / demos / etc.).
  • Manage release schedules and environment data deploys.
  • Collaborate with Product Manager and Business team to manage ad hoc Dev requests and protects the efficiency of Dev team delivery.
  • Engage with Visual Designer on UI components.
  • Manage the delivery of projects through the complete Development lifecycle from inception to deployment, ensuring that delivery meets business and technical requirements and is within agreed time.
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders within the different business units, ensuring regular engagement in terms of understanding the business need, building shared understanding of the solution and providing status updates to achieve successful outcomes.
  • Effectively co-ordinate and work with the teams in development, operations and support in an Agile environment, providing project leadership and acting as the escalation point for all development issues specific to projects.
  • Monitor and drive progress through team meetings, Agile ceremonies, and report status proactively to the business.
  • Ensure Agile Philosophy is followed and create an environment conducive to a self-managing and accountable Tech Team.
  • Plan and execute IT strategy, resourcing, recruitment, capacity and performance (have a clear understanding and effective management of team velocity).
  • Act as Line Manager and responsible for the Tech Team.
  • Act as liaison between internal business and clients, and the Development team.
  • Record and log key product decisions, rationale and risks.
  • Provide regular and accurate progress updates, dashboards and reports to the rest of the Management team.
REQUIREMENTS:

Qualifications
  • Tertiary qualification in a relevant field with preference given to Information Technology or Information Systems.
Experience/Skills -
  • 5+ Years experience at managing teams and projects.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in a similar capacity within Software Development environments is essential to success in this role.
  • 3+ Years experience working as a Product Owner in an Agile environment.
  • Experience as a Scrum Master.
  • Excellent planning and communication skills.
  • Excellent people skills.
  • Strong managerial skills, the ability to make decisions, deal with conflict and manage different personalities.
  • The ideal candidate must be a self-organized and driven individual who can deal with multiple ongoing projects at any point in time.
  • Must have a strong orientation towards continuous learning and enjoy working within entrepreneurial environments.
Advantageous
  • Additional Certifications such as Certified Product Owner and/or Scrum Master course.
  • Experience in Jira.
