A Leading Pharmaceutical Company has a vacancy for a Product Manager with a proven track record in product and brand management within the private and hospital sector. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in the generic pharmaceutical industry, possess strong data analysis capabilities, and maintain established relationships with private hospital head office accounts.
This role offers the opportunity to take ownership of key Pharma and Hospital brands within the CNS, Antibacterial, Pain & Inflammation, Pharma Hospital products and Gastrointestinal (GIT) therapeutic categories. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing marketing strategies that drive growth, profitability, and market leadership.
Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute strategic marketing plans for assigned product portfolios in the private market and hospital market.
  • Monitor product performance, market trends, and competitive activity to identify opportunities and manage risks.
  • Extract, analyse, and interpret market data from IQVIA, Impact RX, Pharma Exec, and other data sources to support decision-making.
  • Prepare and submit tenders and product submissions to private hospital groups in line with company procedures and deadlines.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with private hospital head office accounts (e.g., Netcare, Life, Mediclinic).
  • Collaborate with sales, regulatory, medical, and supply chain teams to ensure successful strategy execution.
  • Co-travel periodically with the salesforce to private hospitals and pharmacies to support marketing alignment and gather market feedback.
  • Provide accurate forecasting and contribute to annual business planning processes.
  • Ensure compliance with SAHPRA regulations and company code of practice in all marketing activities
Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy, Life Sciences, Marketing, or Business (postgraduate qualification advantageous).
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in the pharmaceutical industry, with a proven track record in product or brand management.
  • Experience within the generic pharmaceutical industry is essential.
  • Extensive experience in the private hospital market with existing relationships at head office level.
  • Proven experience managing CNS, Antibacterial, Pain & Inflammation, GIT, or other hospital-related products.
  • Strong analytical and data interpretation skills with proficiency in IQVIA, Impact RX, and Pharma Exec.
  • Fully computer literate in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, Teams).
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong commercial acumen and strategic planning capability.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel nationally when required.
