The role is positioned and integrated within the Supply Chain of MML and is required to control outsourced print services.
The purpose of this role is to control the printing of MML books to agreed quality, time and financial standards.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Support the product development team
Maintain a productive and collaborative interaction between the Supply Chain and the Value Chain.
Work with the Value Chain to maintain the company's IP within Content Management guidelines.
Provide support to the Product Development teams on product specifications and factors that could influence the successful or economical creation and delivery of printed product.
Provide support to maintain accurate product data in the ERP system.
Provide production support for any product development projects.
Manage the print process
The role is required to maintain business controls on print procurement:
Manage print purchasing within all purchasing protocols.
Use agreed costing standards to prepare accurate estimates for order authorisation and order placement.
Select appropriate, approved vendors, in accordance with the company's procurement strategy.
Support saving opportunities through cost evaluation and appropriate vendor selection.
Maintain accurate financial commitments from quotation to invoice, ensuring that print and related costs are accurately recorded and closed within the ERP system.
Participate in the development of improved workflows, data integration and automation.
The role is required to manage operational controls on print procurement:
Manage print purchasing within all agreed timeframes.
Engage with Supply Chain plans or specific project plans; ensure that they are understood and used to guide operations.
Actively manage print placement and print in progress to achieve defined deadlines and service standards.
Ensure that the flow of all work in progress is accurately documented, and that the Supply Chain and other stakeholders in the business have access to updated and correct supply information.
Pro-actively inform stakeholders of problems and resultant delivery changes.
Conclude the print purchasing process in the ERP system at stock delivery stage and ensure that incoming stock can be processed by the Distribution Centre without any delay and that the stock value is accurately reflected in the ERP system.
Maintain accurate job specifications and order instructions to achieve 0% spoilage.
Manage quality assurance processes. Monitor quality of products and resolve / escalate quality problems as appropriate
Educational Requirements
A tertiary qualification in Print Management will be advantageous.
Alternatively, a relevant qualification or equivalent work experience in production, print, pre-press, data management, or procurement will be considered.
Experience Requirements
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required.
Experience with an ERP system will be beneficial.
