Our client is seeking the expertise of a Product Application Technologist specifically in Poultry to join their team.
Reporting to: General Manager - Specialty Foods
Main Purpose of the Job:
The main purpose of this role is to develop and optimise poultry brine and coating systems through product trials and technical support at customer sites.
Requirements

• A degree in Food Science, Food Technology, or a related field (e.g., Food Chemistry, Biochemistry, Microbiology)
• BTech candidates must have poultry industry experience
• Minimum of 3-5 years' experience as a Product Application Technologist, specifically in poultry
• Hands-on experience working with poultry brines, coating systems, and injection equipment

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and test brine and coating systems for poultry applications
• Conduct product trials at customer sites, including set-up and operation of injectors and other equipment
• Collaborate with customers to identify needs and develop tailored solutions
• Provide technical troubleshooting support and recommend process or formulation improvements
• Participate in NPD projects, offering technical input from concept through to implementation
• Prepare technical reports, documentation, and presentations for both internal use and clients
• Maintain accurate records, lab notes, and formulation data
• Stay updated on industry trends, new technologies, and regulatory changes
• Liaise with suppliers, universities, and external labs as required
• Conduct monthly customer visits and attend factory trials

Area: Maitland, Cape Town
Salary: Salary: R21 000.00 - R25,000.00 basic + company benefits based on experience
Willing and able to travel to client sites as required (petrol to be reimbursed)
