Procurement Specialist (Remote - Proposal & Government Contracting Focus)

Compensation: $1,500-$2,000 USD/month (dependant on experience)

A U.S.-based transportation services provider specializing in medical transport, shuttle operations, and taxi services. The company actively responds to government RFPs and RFIs at the local, state, and federal level. This role will support a sister company structure that includes Navarre Corporation and RMS Inc.
Role Overview
We are seeking a mid- to senior-level Procurement Specialist with strong proposal writing and RFP experience to join our team remotely. The ideal candidate is process-driven, an excellent technical writer, and has hands-on experience with government contracting, RFP/RFI responses, and proposal consolidation.
You will collaborate closely with the U.S.-based team, helping to establish a 24-hour workflow where you can continue work after U.S. hours. This role is ideal for someone who is self-motivated, deadline-driven, and thrives in a fast-paced proposal environment.
Key Responsibilities

• Proposal Development & Submission

• Write, edit, and submit high-quality responses to RFPs and RFIs

• Format proposals according to specific agency requirements

• Create reusable templates and consolidate legacy content into standardized documentation

• Procurement Process Management

• Track open RFPs/RFIs and assist with submission deadlines

• Research procurement platforms, registration portals, and compliance requirements

• Coordination Across Time Zones

• Provide follow-the-sun support to the U.S. team during their off hours

• Work independently with minimal supervision to keep the proposal pipeline moving

• Compliance & Documentation

• Ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance of all submitted materials

• Maintain a shared document library of boilerplate content, project descriptions, and past submissions

• Stakeholder Collaboration

• Communicate regularly with the U.S. proposal lead to align on priorities

• Suggest improvements to workflows, templates, and organizational systems

Required Qualifications

• 5-10 years of experience in procurement, proposal writing, or public sector contracting

• Demonstrated experience with U.S. government RFP and RFI processes

• Native or near-native English proficiency with excellent technical writing and grammar

• Strong document formatting skills (Word, PDF, etc.)

• Detail-oriented with strong organizational and project management skills

• Comfortable working independently across different time zones

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working for or contracting with U.S. city, state, or federal agencies

• Familiarity with transportation, medical, or logistics-based government contracts

• Knowledge of procurement platforms (e.g., SAM.gov, state portals)

• Experience building and maintaining proposal libraries or boilerplate content

• Strong initiative--able to problem-solve and lead proposal development without micromanagement

Cultural & Regional Fit

• Strong preference for South African candidates due to time zone compatibility and English proficiency

• Candidates from LATAM will be considered as a secondary option
