Job Description
A leading pharmaceutical manufacturer based in Ballito is seeking a Procurement Officer to oversee the sourcing, negotiation, and purchasing of raw materials, active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs), and excipients.
The role ensures timely delivery, cost-efficiency, and supplier compliance with regulatory and quality standards to meet production requirements.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Inventory Management:
- Monitor inventory on SAP.
- MRP processing raw materials.
- Place purchase orders timeously.
- Follow up on purchase order dates.
- Communicate collection requirements with Logistics.
- Monitor and negotiate pricing.
- Supplier monitoring and performance/evaluations.
- Forecasting on customer demand.
- Maintain and update approved raw materials lists.
- Evaluate suppliers on pricing, service and quality.
- Diploma or Degree in the relevant field
- Minimum of 8-10 years of proven work experience
- Proficient in SAP, Microsoft Word, and Excel
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Ability to perform well under pressure
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Analytical thinker with problem-solving skills related to purchasing and inventory
- Proactive, self-motivated, and adaptable
- Highly organized with excellent time management abilities
