Job Title

: Procurement Officer

Job Summary

:

The Procurement Officer will be responsible for executing the company's procurement activities with a strong emphasis on Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment (BBBEE) initiatives. This role incudes sourcing and managing suppliers in alignment with BBBEE standards, ensuring compliance, and meeting the company's strategic transformation goals. The Procurement Officer will work closely with internal departments to support BBBEE scorecard improvements through preferential procurement and supplier development.

Qualifications and Experience

:

Grade 12

Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Supply Chain Management, Finance or related field

Minimum of 2 years' experience in purchasing or procurement

Experience in the mining industry advantageous

Skills and Competencies

:

Knowledge of procurement processes, practices and principles

Strong organizational and time management skills to meet procurement deadlines

Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively within a team

Familiarity with contract management and supplier relationship management

Proficiency in MS Office

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Manage the end-to-end procurement process, including sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing goods and services

Collaborate with internal departments to determine procurement needs and specifications

Research and evaluate potential suppliers based on price, quality, and delivery capabilities

Maintain strong relationships with suppliers and negotiate favourable terms and pricing

Prepare purchase orders and ensure accuracy in product specifications and quantities.

Track and monitor order status, ensuring timely delivery and resolving any issues that arise

Monitor and evaluate supplier performance based on quality, delivery, and service
