Procurement Officer | Cape Town | Grocery Store

We are seeking a dedicated and dynamic Procurement Officer to join our client in Lansdowne. The purpose of this role is to oversee all of the purchasing activities for the organisation as well as to prepare plans for the purchase of goods, services and supplies. The ideal candidate should be strong in verbal and written communication, strong typing skills are essential, along with a meticulous attention to detail. This position will be based in Lansdowne, Imam Haron road.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Overseeing all the purchasing activities
• Preparing plans for the purchase of goods, services, and supplies
• Following and enforcing the companyxe2x80x99s procurement policies and procedures
• Reviewing, comparing, analyzing, and approving products and services to be purchased
• Managing inventories and maintaining accurate purchase and pricing records
• Maintaining and updating supplier information such as qualifications, delivery times, product ranges, etc
• Maintaining good supplier relations and negotiating contracts
• Researching and evaluating prospective suppliers
• Preparing budgets, cost analyses, and reports
• Will work closely with the grocery store manager

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• Matric
• Procurement / Supply Chain qualification advantageous
• 2-5 years experience working in procurement industry
• Proficiency in Microsoft packages
• Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, etc) advantageous
• Strong verbal and written communication skills (English)

Salary : R12 500 CTC

Start Date : 1 February 2024
