About the Company and Position



The Company is an aerospace engineering and consulting services company with an extensive network of experts and industrial partners. Our small but highly qualified team of professionals develops cutting-edge solutions in aerospace, propulsion and systems engineering.

Our core capabilities are Design, Simulation, Assembly, Integration and Testing. We are looking to expand our engineering team, more specifically our Avionics department, with an experienced, practical and enthusiastic Software Engineer who is also a team player.

This exciting but challenging opportunity involves software development for our embedded systems, which requires thorough software testing and software performance evaluation in order to satisfy system requirements. Additional software development may also involve desktop application development for ground control systems.

Responsibilities



The main duties to be performed by the successful candidate will be:

Managing the end-to-end procurement processes, including the purchasing or obtaining of materials, machined components, off the shelf items, consumables, and services. Negotiating supplier agreements to secure the most favourable conditions to the business in terms of delivery, finance, quality and support. Maintaining relationships with suppliers to uphold commitment to current and future programs. Evaluating proposals and selecting the best sourcing channels based on adherence to specification requirements, delivery, finance, quality and support. Managing all purchasing activities related to purchase orders such as purchasing requests, RFQ's, purchase orders, delivery monitoring, logistics, returns, claims, invoices etc. Managing and resolving queries between supplier and finance, engineering, project management, and quality. Managing supplier non-conformances by communicating issues, requesting corrective actions, and providing feedback on product performance. Developing risk management procedures to mitigate losses in the event of product shortages. Managing and maintaining the supplier database, procurement procedures, supplier evaluations, and conducting supplier audits. Acquiring and maintaining knowledge about suppliers, supplier markets, products, customer requirements, and business intelligence and seeking ways to improve and enhance the quality of products purchased and the timeliness of deliveries. Communicating with management on a regular basis regarding the efficient flow of goods and services affecting project schedules and budget. Conducting cost analyses and setting benchmarks for improvement.

Requirements



The following minimum qualifications, experience, skills and knowledge will be required:

B.Eng in Mechanical Engineering or a Bachelors in purchasing management, supply chain management, business management or a related field is required. At least 2 years of experience in a procurement position such as supply chain management or purchasing, preferably in a precision engineering environment. Sound knowledge of sourcing goods and services in the precision engineering sector and collecting and analysing relevant data. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, understand project technical requirements and specifications and effectively communicate these aspects to suppliers. Good understanding of relevant Export and Import Control regulations and INCOTERMS. Knowledge about quality and environmental systems and requirements. Supplier relationship collaboration/management, inventory management, development and compliance. Full comprehension of supply chain strategies, policies, regulation, legislation and to act in accordance with those directions. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a talent for negotiations and networking. Ability to thrive under pressure and adhere to constant and challenging deadlines. Aptitude in decision-making and strong leadership capabilities. Ability to apply an overall perspective, good commercial judgement and to carry out long-term development of strategic business relationships.

Special working conditions
