Procurement Manager

Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and manage strategic procurement plans aligned with business objectives.
- Ensure compliance with the Mining Charter and promote B-BBEE supplier development.
- Oversee the sourcing and vetting of suppliers in line with transformation and regulatory frameworks.
- Engage with local communities and unions on procurement-related matters to ensure alignment and transparency.
- Manage a large, dispersed procurement team (including remote teams) and ensure high performance and accountability.
- Monitor procurement performance, drive cost-saving initiatives, and enhance supplier relationships.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, legal, and finance departments.
- Lead contract negotiations, manage risk, and ensure legal compliance across all procurement activities.
- BCom Degree in Procurement, Supply Chain, Business Management, or a related field.
- Minimum 7 years procurement experience, with at least 3 years in a senior or managerial role.
- Strong exposure to mining, manufacturing, or construction environments.
- Proven experience with B-BBEE supplier sourcing and Mining Charter compliance.
- Demonstrated experience in community engagement and dealing with unions.
- Strong people management skills, with the ability to lead and coordinate a large, remote team.
- Strategic thinker with excellent negotiation, planning, and communication skills.
