Job SummaryA strategic opportunity exists for a Procurement BI Analyst to join the centralised procurement function within a leading banking environment. This role is focused on delivering data-driven insights and improving reporting accuracy to empower the business to make informed procurement decisions. The successful candidate will bridge the gap between procurement operations and business intelligence, ensuring the integrity, relevance, and usability of reporting outputs.The current BI environment is fragmented, with inconsistent and unreliable reports. The appointed consultant will provide both analytical expertise and procurement business knowledge to drive reporting accuracy, business engagement, and project delivery.Key ResponsibilitiesBusiness Engagement & Project Delivery

• Collaborate directly with procurement and finance stakeholders to understand reporting needs and business value.
• Lead and manage BI projects from initiation to completion, ensuring timelines, budgets, and quality standards are met.
• Translate business requirements into clear BI deliverables and reporting solutions.

Data Analysis & Integrity

• Extract, validate, and analyse data from multiple source systems to ensure accurate and consistent reporting.
• Perform regular data integrity checks and daily monitoring to ensure dashboard reliability and trust in insights delivered.
• Conduct reconciliation exercises, such as general ledger vs procurement spend.

Dashboard Development & Visualisation

• Design and develop high-quality dashboards and visual reports in Power BI, enabling actionable insights.
• Create analytical tools for tracking procurement performance, supplier insights, and cost optimisation.

System Integration & Architecture

• Evaluate data sources across disparate systems and propose architectural improvements to streamline reporting.
• Ensure alignment of BI outputs with ERP systems and other data pipelines, working closely with IT or tech teams.

Governance & Quality Assurance

• Maintain strong governance over data usage, validation, and cleansing processes.
• Promote data stewardship practices across procurement reporting and analytics.

Stakeholder Communication

• Present findings and insights clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Regularly update leadership on project progress, outcomes, and data-driven recommendations.

Required Skills and ExperienceMandatory:

• Proven experience working with Power BI for visualisation, dashboarding, and analytics.
• Strong procurement knowledge, including spend analysis, contract data, supplier performance, and sourcing metrics.
• Experience in banking or financial services environments.
• Solid understanding of BI architecture - ability to connect data from various source systems and build cohesive reporting structures.
• Excellent data analysis skills and experience performing data integrity and reconciliation checks.
• Demonstrated project management skills - able to own deliverables and drive them to completion.

Contract Highlights

• Hybrid role: 2-3 days onsite per week.
• Travel required between three Johannesburg sites.
• Strategic role with visibility to senior leadership.
