The key purpose of this role is to maintain and optimise plant and associated devices. This will ensure plant availability and ensuring the integrity of Control and Automation (C&A) system for Brewery operations.
Focus Area 1
Maintenance
Act as single point of contact for outsourced Solutions services: IT UPS, IT networks
Ensure that Inter PLC network maintenance - switches maintenance integrity ownership
Support plant with resolving problems experienced in the Control and Automation layer that has been escalated
Ensure that manufacturing server checks are being done including Avmar backup checks - hardware, cluster health, server operating system, server application, time sync, SQL, anti-virus, SCCM, SCOM
Support the change control process of approved changes to ensure that they are made in accordance with approved procedures and vendor recommendations to the control and automation system
Ensure plant efficiency by maintaining C&A systems uptime and resolution of C&A breakdowns timeously
Ensures sustainable integrity and stability of the C&A infrastructure
Supporting and resolving C&A breakdowns both during and after office hours either remotely or by coming to site
Exercise budgetary controls over the asset care requirements of the packaging hall
Assist with ensuring that system architecture environment remains aligned with brewery asset care, C&A strategy and standards
Focus Area 2
Plant Reliability
Provide input to the Business Projects or initiatives by reviewing business cases and making recommendations to the plant
Provide technical leadership for control and automation projects in a timely manner
Lead commissioning of the solution at the plant and Coordination of Control and Automation aspects of CAPEX projects
Audit plant against C&A standards and ensuring compliance
Conduct an unbiased audit on specified systems and process within the manufacturing system's environment
Document findings of the audit and assist the plant in creating action plans and to close out gaps
Assist with implementation of standards and processes where applicable and having follow-up meetings
Reviews plant reliability to ensure that equipment is operating optimally and to identify problems or opportunities timeously
Coach, guide and assist with training of all electrical and automation maintenance and Operational staff
Takes part in maintenance problem solving and ensure the right root cause is addressed
Review and optimization of maintenance package and related work instructions etc
Support projects with C&A scope and input to CAPIN
Developing and maintaining equipment documentation
Focus Area 3
Implement Manufacturing excellence program
Take part in all applicable team meetings
Support Visual management where required
Take part in Level 1 & 2 problem solving process
Ensure 5S initiative is adopted in the department
Take part in applicable maintenance pillar activities
Support the ME program as a way of life
Requirements of the Role
BSc/ BEng (Mechatronic/Electrical/Electronic/Computer Science) or 4-year relevant technical qualification
Minimum of 3 years in industrial control and automation or completion of Control and Automation Technical traineeship
In-depth knowledge of Process Control
FMCG or beverages experience in industrial control and automation
Preferred Skills/Competencies
Knowledge of Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS) e.g. SAP, Shopware and/or Pragma experience
Experience with CMMS preferably Pragma 'On Key", will be a distinct advantage
Knowledge of Manufacturing systems and RCM concepts and principles
Knowledge of MS Projects and MS Excel
