Job Description

A full-service law firm offering legal advice to UK and international businesses as well as individuals and families is seeking an experienced Private Wealth and Inheritance Paralegal to be responsible for supporting estate administration and private client matters through document drafting, client communication, asset coordination, and general administrative duties.
Minimum requirements for the role:

  • Must have a relevant tertiary qualification
  • Strong legal administrative experience, ideally within Private Client (experience in other areas of law will also be considered)
  • High attention to detail, excellent organisation skills, and the ability to prioritise workload across multiple fee earners
  • Confident with digital dictation and standard legal documentation
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a professional and client-focused approach
  • Strong IT skills and willingness to learn new systems
  • Understanding of compliance, including AML regulations
  • A proactive and adaptable mindset with commercial awareness
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
  • Drafting initial correspondence to register deaths.
  • Coordinating property and chattels valuations, house clearances, and related services.
  • Preparing schedules of assets and liabilities.
  • Drafting IHT forms and legal statements.
  • Preparing correspondence with HMRC, the Probate Registry, and third parties.
  • Organizing the closure and sale of assets and arranging distributions.
  • Assisting with deceased tax affairs and drafting Estate Accounts.
  • Placing s.27 Trustee Act notices.
  • Drafting simple Wills, Codicils, and LPAs.
  • Preparing standard letters to testators, donors, and attorneys.
  • Drafting Deputyship applications and supporting documentation.
  • Preparing asset and liability schedules.
  • Registering LPAs/Deputyship orders and arranging payment of liabilities.
  • Acting as a first point of contact for new enquiries and managing client calls professionally.
  • Opening and maintaining client files, ensuring AML compliance and accurate data entry.
  • Assisting with billing and account processes.
  • Proofreading correspondence and documents.
  • Maintaining and updating internal databases.
  • Booking meetings and supporting diary management.
  • Supporting business development through enquiry logging and tracking conversion rates.
