The Role
In this remote position, you will be instrumental in offering expert technical guidance and project management for tailings management in the mining industry. Your wealth of experience in tailings design and geotechnical engineering will be crucial in delivering creative and sustainable solutions for our clients. This role provides the chance to work on diverse projects and reports to both the Section Manager and the Principal Technical Director.
The Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the technical aspects of tailings projects throughout the entire project lifecycle, from pre-feasibility studies to detailed design, construction, and operation.
- Provide expert advice and guidance on tailings design, stability analysis, water management, and deposition planning.
- Oversee and review the work of junior engineers and ensure adherence to best practices and industry standards.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their needs and exceeding expectations.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of the companyxe2x80x99s tailings management strategy.
- Stay up-to-date on the latest advancements in tailings management technologies and regulations.
The Requirements
- Minimum of 15 years of experience in tailings design and geotechnical engineering within the mining industry.
- Bachelorxe2x80x99s degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent) and professional registration (P.Eng. or similar) required.
- Masterxe2x80x99s degree in Geotechnical Engineering or a related field a strong asset.
- Proven experience in leading and managing multi-disciplinary teams.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong project management skills and a focus on delivering projects on time and within budget.
- Ability to travel internationally as required.
- Proficiency in relevant engineering software (e.g., geotechnical analysis software).
