Job Description
We are seeking a professionally registered (PR Eng) Structural Engineer with strong experience in mining and industrial structures. The successful candidate will lead structural design projects, conduct site assessments, and ensure compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage structural engineering projects within mining environments
- Design and review structural steel and reinforced concrete structures (e.g., conveyors, headgears, crushers, process plants, workshops)
- Conduct structural inspections, condition assessments, and site investigations
- Prepare technical reports, calculations, and design documentation
- Ensure compliance with relevant codes, standards, and safety regulations
- Mentor junior engineers and technicians
- Liaise with multidisciplinary teams, contractors, and clients
- BEng / BSc / BTech in Civil or Structural Engineering
- Professionally Registered Engineer (PR Eng) with relevant governing body
- Minimum 8-10 years' structural engineering experience, with significant exposure to mining projects
- Proficiency in structural analysis and design software (e.g., Prokon, Tekla, SAP2000, ETABS)
- Strong knowledge of steel and reinforced concrete design
- Experience with brownfield and greenfield mining projects
- Willingness to travel to mine sites as required
