Job Description

A leading organisation is looking for a Power BI Developer and Administrator to join their team. The main purpose of the role is developing impactful business intelligence solutions using Power BI and overseeing the administration and optimization of the Power Bi environment. Training Superusers and assisting in maturing our Analytics capability is part of this role. The ideal candidate should posses a strong background in Power BI development, data modelling and Administration tasks.

Power BI Development

Data Modelling:

• Design, create, and maintain efficient and scalable data models within Power BI.
• Develop relationships, calculated columns and measures to support reporting requirements.

Report and Dashboard Design:

• Create visually compelling reports and dashboards that provide actionable insights.
• Implement interactive features to enhance user experience and facilitate data exploration.

DAX and Advanced Calculations:

• Utilise DAX to create complex calculations and KPIs.
• Implement measures for accurate and meaningful data analysis.

Data Integration and ETL:

• Integrate data from various sources into Power BI, ensuring data accuracy and consistency.
• Develop ETL processes to transform raw data into a format suitable for reporting.

Power BI Administration:

Security and Access Control:

• Implement and manage role-based security to control user access and permissions.
• Ensure compliance with data security policies and standards.

Data Refresh

• Configure and monitor data refresh schedules to maintain up-to-date information in Power BI.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to data refresh.

Performance Monitoring and Optimization

• Monitor and optimize the performance of Power Bi reports, datasets and dashboards.
• Identify and address performance bottlenecks for improved efficiency.

Backup and Recovery:

• Establish and maintain backup and recovery procedures for Power BI datasets and reports.
• Ensure data integrity and quick recovery in case of system failures.

Usage Monitoring and Auditing:

• Track user interactions, monitor usage patterns and perform auditing of Power BI activities.
• Maintain logs and reports for compliance and analysis purpose.
• Optimize resource allocation to accommodate growing data volumes and user demands.

Training

• Assist in maturing the Data Analytics capability as well as data literacy which consists on upskilling employees.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree.
• Proven experience as Power BI developer and Administrator.
• Strong proficiency in DAX, data modelling and report/dashboard design.
• Knowledge of ETL processes and data integration strategies.
• Experience with security configurations, data refresh management and performance optimization.
• Power BI Certification.
• Familiarity with related Reporting tools (QlikView, Quick sight).
• Experience in business analysis and understanding of Finance and insurance Domain.
