Wexe2x80x99re on the lookout for an experienced Port Helper - Recovery to safely and efficiently check and clean Primary Ports and Smelt Spouts ensuring stable firing of the Recovery Boiler.
As a Port Helper - Recovery, you will be responsible for:

  • Check the condition of the Primary Ports constantly and clean them every hour.
  • Ensure the smelt flow from the smelt spouts is constant by clearing any obstructions in the spouts, consistently throughout the shift.
  • Ensure the throat of the spouts to the Dissolving Tank is cleaned every 2 hours.
  • Ensure dissolving tank agitators are running at all times.
  • Take smelt samples to the laboratory to analyses reductions.
  • Ensure fish tails open to spouts and shatter nozzles open.
  • Conform and adhere to work and operating procedures and instructions.
  • Perform house keeping with the team xe2x80x93 focus on area of responsibility
  • Regularly inspects all equipment in the plant for potential problems each shift
  • Perform other duties as directed by the Process Controller or Shift Superintendent
  • Communicate with process controller and shift sup potential and actual production delays
  • Create a safe work environment by identifying and managing risks
  • Reports accidents, injuries and fires immediately to the Process Controller / Shift Superintendent
  • Accountable to ensure adherence to all safety BPxe2x80x99s, procedures and BBS practices.
  • Ensure adherence to specific Legal regulatory requirements
  • Do plant walkabout and inspections and take corrective action where required
  • BBS targets reached and maintained
  • Achieve 5S status in area of responsibility
  • Coach and Train new employees in area of responsibility

What are we looking for?
  • Matric with Maths and Physical Science or N3 Pulp and paper
  • 0 xe2x80x93 1 Yearsxe2x80x99 experience in a Production Environment.
