About the Position

SARS' BUSINESS DESIGN AND ENGINEERING Policy and Procedure team is is looking for a highly skilled results driven professional with relevant academic competence and experience with solid work values to join this dynamic team of seasoned professionals within the Enforcement Policy and Procedure portfolio. This team of seasoned professionals develops policies, procedures, standards and guidelines. Job Purpose

To develop and analyse operational policy and procedures taking into account business demands and legislative requirements, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness within SARS operating environment.

Education and Experience

Minimum Qualification & Experience Required

Relevant Bachelor's Degree / Advanced Diploma in law, economics, or taxation (NQF 7) AND 5-7 years' experience in a similar environment, of which 2-3 years ideally at functional specialist level

ALTERNATIVE #

Senior Certificate (NQF 4) AND 10 years related experience, of which 2-3 years ideally at functional specialist level.

Job Outputs:

Process

  • Conduct research to develop and implement new ideas and solutions that add value in area of specialisation.
  • Plan and organise own work tasks within area of work.
  • Contribute to the development and design of area specific policies and procedures to ensure continued quality and service improvement.
  • Develop recordkeeping procedures and manages appropriate records and policy documentation in accordance with applicable polices and standards.
  • Provide advice and guidance to business on policies and procedure development and amendments.
  • Manage appropriate records and policy documentation in accordance with applicable polices and standards.
  • Develop policies and procedures within area of accountability, aligned to the Governance Framework, taking into account role segregation.
  • Develop and maintain productive working relationships with peers, SARS role players and third parties to achieve predefined objectives.
  • Draft and finalise rulings and other documents in line with relevant policies and governance within set timelines and complete any tasks such as research etc. in order to ensure the aforementioned.
