The PMO Project Manager is responsible for the administration and efficient daily operation of a full-service Project office. This includes operations, product sales, customer service. He/she will be accountable to develop new business, provide a superior level of customer relations and promote the sales and service culture through coaching, guidance and staff motivation. In addition, he/she is responsible for attaining established Project goals, increase the visibility of the Project and to enhance new and existing business opportunities.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Solutions Design
Develop end-to-end data centre infrastructure solutions, including design for power, cooling, monitoring systems, and network architecture, ensuring alignment with client requirements and best practices.
Translate complex business requirements and client needs into a comprehensive, scalable, and secure technical solution design.
Conduct network modeling, analysis, and planning to optimise data centre performance, including for LAN, WAN, and other data communications networks.
Assess existing systems architecture and collaborate with technical staff to recommend and implement solutions for improvement.
Define and design architecture solutions that align with enterprise standards and industry frameworks.
Documentation & Implementation
Create comprehensive design documentation, including site layout, equipment specifications, system integration plans, and architecture diagrams.
Design integration solutions to ensure seamless and secure interaction between new and existing systems and platforms.
Provide technical guidance and supervision to project and installation teams during the implementation phase, ensuring the built solution matches the design.
Project Planning
Meets with existing potential Clients.
Compiles quotes on Projects (including internal costings).
Develops a detailed Project Plan to track progress.
Oversees the design and installation of copper and fibre infrastructure.
Ensures that all Projects are delivered on time, within scope and within budget.
Processes claims during Projects.
Ensures that all areas of work performance are properly staffed and directed in accordance with the Quality Management System.
Reports and escalates deviations in budgets, plans, etc. to Senior Management and the Client.
Ensures the availability and allocation of resources.
Co-ordinates resources for timely and flawless execution of Projects
Project Coordination
Liaises with Clients to discuss solution design.
Arranges required resources for a project.
Sources prices for project resources.
Co-ordinates procurement, project planning, resource scheduling, and client correspondence.
Manages the process to ensure on-site support and management, progress reporting, stock management, and logistics coordination to get all stock to site.
Co-ordinates client handover and the compilation of handover documentation.
Project Administration
Reconciles project costs and inter-branch charges.
Prepares project forecasts and planning.
Ensures that installation standards are adhered to and arranges quality assurance walk-through post-installation.
Tracks and monitors all Projects.
Any other reasonable duties and responsibilities in line with your capabilities and at the request of your Superior
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Minimum of Grade 12 or equivalent
Minimum 5 years' experience in similar position
A Project Management qualification would be an advantage
Must have management and leadership skills
Excellent negotiation skills
Must be able to read plans
Must be able to design Copper and Fibre Networks
Must be able to do mechanical work
Must have extensive knowledge in space planning
Must understand and be able to advise on network performance specifications, network limitations and power requirements
Must have electrical knowledge (SANS 10142)
Must be proficient in MS Office, CAD and Linkware
Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
Must be available to travel and work overtime as and when required
Must have a valid passport
A valid driver's licence and own transport
