Job Description
A role has become available for Junior Tunnel Manager for our Research and Development Department based in Kempton Park. The purpose of this role is to manage all structures on the Research Farm for the purpose of protective cropping to ensure that research activities can be carried out effectively and efficiently.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- General hygiene, appearance, and tidiness around all tunnel structures
- Working closely with breeders to determine ideal growing conditions
- Program/adjust seasonal/ daily settings influencing climate control
- Monitor, maintain, and service
- Monitor general plant appearance
- Fertigation
- Pest and disease control
- Familiarise himself with the latest technology
- Supervision of staff/ labour
- Administrative duties
Diploma in Agriculture (Essential)
Training:
BASOS
AVCASA
Computer Literacy
Experience:
3 years relevant work experience (minimum)
