Platform Technology Lead

Job Description
Define the multi-year platform strategy & architecture for a scalable, high-reuse, multi-country solution.
Build the orchestration engine:
matching, dynamic pricing, trust & safety, workflow automation.Set technical guardrails ensuring reliability, security, observability, and interoperability.
Drive marketplace design:
liquidity, matching quality, reducing friction, combating cold-start challenges.Implement data & AI systems for pricing, recommendations, fraud detection, and personalisation.
Lead openness and external innovation, integrating contest-driven solutions and partner technologies.
Oversee country deployments, minimizing localisation effort while maximizing platform reuse.
15+ years in senior technology leadership roles (platforms, marketplaces, ecosystems).
Proven experience designing or running multi-sided platforms at scale.
Deep knowledge of cloud-native architecture, APIs, microservices, data & AI/ML.
Strong expertise in marketplace economics, supply-demand mechanics, governance, trust & safety.
Experience integrating external innovation (e.g., challenge-driven solutions, developer platforms).
Ability to scale technology across multiple African countries and languages.
Strong leadership presence, stakeholder management, and cross-functional collaboration.
