Plant Production Manager - Mining - Northern Cape
Our client, an international Mining company, has an opportunity for an experienced and qualified Plant Production Manager to be based in one of their mines in Northern Cape.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Responsible for production and safety within the Processing Plant as well as the Tailings Storage Facility.
- Controls the day-to-day management of people and resources associated with the plant, coordinating activities to ensure production in a safe, cost effective and efficient manner.
- Forming an integral part of the mid to long term productions plans, forecasts and strategy implementation.
- Routine functions include: Annual budgeting, managing contractors on-site, managing key performance areas, planning and implementing production targets, leading continuous improvement and optimization of production processes, driving Corporate Governance (MAS) implementation, presenting monthly departmental production reporting, consumables management.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification in Metallurgy.
- Minimum 8-10 years of relevant experience.
- Good knowledge of the Mine Health and Safety Act and Environmental Management principles, practices, and statutory requirements.
- A valid code B driver's license.
- Previous experience as a Plant Production Manager will be advantageous.
- MBA Degree will be an added advantage.
