Plant Production Manager - DelmasFull job descriptionPlant Production ManagerBuhle seeks to appoint a forward-thinking Plant Production Manager to elevate farm Plant productions to the next level. Farm productions include grains, vegetables, and herbs, demonstrable experience of all is requisite. The consummate professional will be responsible for campus wide commercial production including the financial management of projects, recognising and securing business opportunities to strategically expand and improve procedures, standards or policies whilst adhering to regulatory guidelines.Responsibilitiesxc2xb7 Ensure the farm productions are profitable all year round.xc2xb7 Build and nurture client relationships in order to preserve or secure new contracts.xc2xb7 Ensure compliance with government laws regulations on agriculture, labour and related matters.xc2xb7 Understand and implementation of Good Agricultural Practices (GAP)xc2xb7 Manage market networks for all commodities.xc2xb7 Manage and oversee the divisional finances (Budgets)xc2xb7 Organise sales and purchases of farm equipment and farm produce.xc2xb7 Work with other departmentxe2x80x99s managers to prioritise Buhle goals and KPIs.xc2xb7 Farm risk management such as keeping an up-to-date knowledge of pests and diseases, industrial actions etc.xc2xb7 Analyse data and generate reports to inform strategic business decisions.xc2xb7 Manage and mentor staff for successful commodity production.xc2xb7 Recruit, train and supervise farm workers and labourers.Skill, qualification and experience requirements:xc2xb7 A post-graduate degree in Agriculture (Plant or Crop Production)xc2xb7 Minimum of 5 yearsxe2x80x99 experience in a supervisory or management position.xc2xb7 A proven history of successful leadership of a diverse staff.xc2xb7 Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.xc2xb7 Must be a strategic thinker and have strong negotiation skills.xc2xb7 Possess a collaborative mind-set and work well as part of a team.xc2xb7 Superior time management abilities and capable of meeting deadlines.xc2xb7 Excellent organizational skills and ability to multi-task.xc2xb7 Up to date on industry trends, as well as laws and regulations.xc2xb7 Ability to build strong relationships with clients and industry contacts.xc2xb7 Honest, discreet and trustworthy.xc2xb7 Advanced computer skills including Word and Excel.xc2xb7 Driverxe2x80x99s license compulsoryDue to the nature of farm work, variations in workloads relate to seasonal demands xe2x80x93 some unsociable hours may be necessary during busy periods (e.g. during planting and harvesting) and the Plant Production Manager will be expected to deal with emergencies.Job Type: PermanentApplication Deadline: 2024/03/22
